History
Tara Mfg. was founded based on the demand for high quality
liners. In 1970, Marshall Richardson opened a retail pool store in
Huntsville, Al. After 7 years, he sold the pool store and started a
distribution company. Marshall soon recognized the demand for
better quality liners. Not satisfied with the quality of the liners
that were available at that time Marshall decided he would take the
lead and start manufacturing the high quality liners that people
were demanding. In 1984, Tara Mfg. started its exciting journey to
become the leader in the vinyl pool liner industry.
Tara Mfg. quickly established a reputation for producing high
quality liners and by 1991 the company had outgrown its facility
and Tara Mfg. moved to a 65,000 square-foot building in Owens Cross
Roads, AL.
Still, Tara Mfg. was not satisfied, they knew customers wanted
more than just great fitting liners. They wanted the liners faster,
and they wanted reliable service. Marshall became determined to
provide customers with the fastest turn around time and the most
effective, responsive customer service team possible.
Armed with a team of experienced and skilled workers Tara Mfg.
realized that cutting edge technology was needed to enhance the
team's ability to provide faster turn around time, while
maintaining the highest quality product. Tara Mfg. tapped the best
minds available to create a unique, revolutionary, never before
seen cutting device. Production increased dramatically.
In 1993 Tara Mfg. set yet another standard for the vinyl liner
industry by introducing the "Five Day Guarantee". If a liner does
not ship within 5 working days Tara Mfg. will pay the freight.
Since then Tara Mfg. has continued to lead the industry in turn
around time. Today Tara Mfg. is the company that all others compare
themselves to. Marshall Richardson's broad experience and knowledge
has made Tara Mfg. the industry leader. By sharing his knowledge
and encouraging innovative thinking in every area of the company,
Tara Mfg. continues to find new levels of excellence.
